Adaptive re-use: retrofit architecture & the climate emergency

It will be even more perfect in my new kitchen someday, but for now it still makes this space a little more enjoyable for me.

🙂 We thought about where the footstool would be kept, where we would hide away four toothbrushes, and how to make bath time as fun as possible!.What was missing from your original bathroom that you absolutely had to have in your new one?.

Since we knew the whole family would end up using this bathroom, two sinks were a must.We also really wanted a free-standing tub so we could really feel like this was a relaxing and indulgent space too.Heated floors are pretty necessary for Canadian Winters too in my opinion!.

I think that little “KraftMaid Cabinetry” label inside the top drawer is so pretty!I’m a little sad that the drawer insert ended up covering it up, but I do love all that storage!.

What storage and functionality challenges did you have in your original bathroom and how did your designer solve them with KraftMaid products?.

Our old bathroom was wheelchair accessible so that meant that we had a really big vanity area, but there are a big cut out in the middle of it where the wheelchair could fit in under the sink. You could even secure it to the wall if you wanted to, but I found it wasn’t necessary at all for me.. I’ve been looking for a good way to store my gift wrap for years and finally I’ve found something that looks good (if you love all that rustic wood, and I do), and is totally functional.

Even though the only rolls of paper I usually have on hand are for Christmas, I think they’re pretty and I like to keep them out in plain view all year so I can enjoy their cuteness..Yes, this back hall/storage area still has weird purpley paint and dark brown baseboards, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have cute storage.. And, don’t go thinking this idea is just for wrapping paper.

Just think of the possibilities!I wouldn’t be opposed to having a whole wall of pallet storage.
